New Year. New Kitchen. New Bath

The beginning of the year is when homeowners reset how their spaces feel and function. With more time spent indoors and a fresh start ahead, January is ideal for rethinking kitchens and baths, the rooms that shape everyday routines.

Bright whites. Natural light. Calm, intentional design.

This month’s inspiration focuses on kitchens and baths that feel serene, uncluttered, and effortlessly livable. Spaces designed to support your routines and elevate the everyday.

This Month’s Kitchen & Bath Inspiration

January’s mood is light, fresh, and refined. Think warm whites layered with soft neutrals, light woods, and subtle texture. These kitchens and baths feel open and calming, with clean surfaces and thoughtful details that make spaces feel larger and brighter.

You’ll see inspiration built around:

  • Bright, light-filled kitchens with clean cabinetry and simple silhouettes

  • Serene baths with warm tile, soft contrast, and spa-like finishes

  • Natural materials: light oak, polished quartz, subtle stone

  • Details that elevate without overwhelming: warm metals, gentle curves, soft textures

This is a season for designs that feel timeless now and still right years from now.

You’ll discover The 2026 Shortlist, showcasing what Brunswick County homeowners are actually requesting in our showroom, plus Bringing It Home, your practical guide to making these trends work in your space.

And for the first time, we’ve invited top cabinet makers to weigh in on what they’re seeing, creating, and predicting for this year’s most coveted kitchens.

From inspiration to implementation, this is your ultimate resource for coastal design in 2026.

Common Questions Answered

We know you have questions about remodeling your kitchen or bath. Here are some answers to help guide you through the process.

What’s the best kitchen layout for a beach home?

Many coastal kitchens benefit from a galley or L-shaped layout to maximize light and movement in narrow spaces. Our designers help you choose based on window placement, traffic flow, and cabinet configuration.

Do I need permits for a bathroom remodel in Brunswick County?

It depends. For nonstructural work in single-family residences, if the total cost is less than $40,000 and no load-bearing or structural changes are involved, you might not need a building permit, but you may still need plumbing or electrical permits if those systems are being modified. Cosmetic upgrades, such as painting, tiling, replacing cabinetry, or swapping out same-size fixtures (toilets, sinks, tubs) without moving plumbing or wiring, generally do not require a permit. It is always best to check directly with Brunswick County Code Administration.

Quartz or granite, what holds up better in humid climates?

Both are extremely durable. Quartz is more resistant to moisture and staining and does not require resealing. We’ll walk you through both.

How long does a typical kitchen remodel for new cabinets and countertops take?

The timeline can vary, but most kitchen remodels are completed within 6 to 8 weeks. We manage every step to ensure a smooth process.

Can I live in my home during the remodel?

Yes, you can. We work to minimize disruption and keep your home functional during the renovation.

What should I consider when choosing materials?

Consider durability, maintenance, and style. Our team will help you select materials that suit your lifestyle and aesthetic preferences. We will also walk you through how your decisions affect pricing.
